As you can see , there are some cheap torches out there that rival the more expensive ones :) Just goes to show how far the technology has come .
Hope this little Review has helped some people out there . I reckon the Tool King Torches are great value for money .
And Admin ,, it would really help to be allowed to have more than four images allowed at one time ;)
The Maglite LED looks to be a big improvement over the incan.
Who and where are Tool king torches Jeff ?

He / she / it is gone. Nice review Jeff, thanks a lot. I've been toying with the idea of the Energiser, but wasn't convinced. However it now looks excellent for the money.

Jeff, many thanks for your review.
Sometimes it is possible to get a good product without spending big dollars, and I think the Tool King torches may be examples of this.
Also, is it difficult changing over to the LED conversion with the Maglite? I have a 6 D cell Maglite that is over 20 years old and I am thinking about upgrading it.
Thanks,
bruce
Bruce, It's not hard to change over a 6D to an LED. Just like changing the bulb. But it may be more economic to buy one of the newer LED torches such as Fenix. The 6D will still have that annoying black spot when you widen the beam.

The 6D will still have that annoying black spot when you widen the beam.
Now that is a good reason not to bother upgrading. :(
I must admit carrying the big 6 D cell was more for self defense purposes when I worked as a licensed security guard in the mid to late 1980's.
The new technology which produces so much illumination with so many options from a small torch is amazing.;)
Also have a look at the led lenser brand.
I have the P7 I use every day for my job.
It is awsome, Is focus-able and I can shoot with it clearly out to 100+metres and its only about 4 inches long.
They are on the dear side though at around $90
My O'light M20 Warrior is the brigthest torch i've owned, on the $100.00 side but for the features and accessories its worth the money.
Also a little AA powered torch i carry now and then is value for money, under $30.00 from the USA

I can see me owning more than a few of these gadgets ...but not as many as the Khukuri's I hope? :o
Bruce,
the little AA torch above is a good starting point (imo), packs a puch for minimal outlay.
