A few details,

Overall length is 240mm with a blade length (plunge to tip) of 110mm. Blade thickness is 4mm. The blade steel is ATS34 professionally hardened and tempered to a final hardness of 58-59 HRC.
Handle scales are black canvas micarta with stainless tube pins. The scales have been finished to approx 400grit to provide a very effective and tactile grip.

The sheath is 3.2mm vegtan leather, hand dyed and hand stitched. The sheath has been wet moulded to the knife for a secure fit.

All work on the knife, (except HT) and the sheath, is mine and the package comes with a certificate of origin and guarantee.

Asking price is $250, postage will be at cost and paypal is available.
If you have any queries or questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

I also have available a similar knife, the only difference to the one pictured is that is has been handled with black linen micarta (see inset)

Matthew,Ahhhh, chute knives.......... My first chute knife went into the bin, then I made a couple or mild steel chute knife blanks. I am right to give it another try with real steel now. John the double edge is not hard but you have to think it about it and have a couple practice tries.

How was Melbourne? Maurie McCarthy told me that I am now a full member of the Guild. What about you? (I assume that you got full membership.)

On closer inspection I note that the photograph was done by Neal Foxwell, your son? (that accompanies you to the shows) well done.

I've done a double grind, similar to a chute pattern on this blade style, unfortunately the steel I used was too thin for that style, consequently the blade is living in drawer without any handle. It looks fine but the tip is too fragile for general use, however a lesson was learnt in the process. I might drag it out in the future and see what I can do with it, shorten it maybe.

Stew, Melbourne was good, numbers were down on last year though but still good and yes, I got the nod from the guild as well.
